HI
Does anyone know of an accountant who gives good advice either free or very cheaply? I'm starting my business and just want to talk to someone about the best way to manage 'ALL' my financial stuff to get the best outcome as I also rent out a house (which makes very little profit). I've contacted some accountants in my area and they all want an initial consultancy fee which is not cheap! The IR were very helpful, but I am sure an accountant would give me more advice. Anyway, I'd be grateful for any contacts!! Thanks.

See the other forum Offers for Startups, there is something there that seems to be just what you are looking for.

I offer a free initial consultation if you would like to have a chat on the ‘phone about your affairs. Most accountants do offer free consultations, but it does sound like you have quite a lot on your plate there. Don’t forget us accountants are effectively selling our time so you cant expect to get everything looked at in detail for free. I do try to support new business by offering quite a lot of time for not very much in the early stages.
