HI TO YOU ALL,
I OPERATE A CCTV COMPANY AND I AM LOOKING TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS TO MY CLIENTS.
THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS I REQUIRE A CONTRACT THAT LOOKS PROFFESIONAL AND IS LEGAL, I HAVE TRIED TO PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER BUT THEY DONT LOOK VERY GOOD.
IS THERE ANY COMPANY OUT THERE THAT ALREADY HAS A MAINTENANCE CONTRACT AND WOULD BE KIND ENOUGH TO SHARE THE LAYOUT OF IT.
KIND REGARDS
JUSTIN

Justin,
As a suggestion, and I have done this in the past, if you have a photocopier or other electronic office equipment it is worth contacting the service supplier or vendor and discussing their maintenance options then request that they send you a manintenace contract to review.
They are generally happy to oblige and this could form the basis for your own - it will also provide you with a view on what is "professional".
Hope this helps
Brian

Hello Justin - I work in the telecoms market and have just put together some terms and conditions for maintenance contracts.
It could be well worth speaking to Lee (emplaw) http://www.limeone.com
They could review the options you want to give and put them together clearly and legally for you - they are working on an order agreement for me at the moment. Very economical compared to a solicitor as well.
If you get stuck I can send you a few pages of mine (Telecoms related) terms and conditions - maintenance agreement etc.
Let me know
Si

Dear Justin
You do need to research the market and be aware of what your competitors and other people in the industry offer - so do ask other firms in the same, or comprable, industry to send you their terms and a standard copy of their service contract. You can then see what they offer and any terms and conditions they include arising from their experience of operations in that sector. You can also search the web for 'Sample Maintenance Contract'.
The next step is for you to write the main points that you want included in your contract by way of a letter - state what you will do for your customers, and what you will not, and any other important conditions.
You should really then pass that letter to a solicitor with experience in drafting commercial contracts and get them to produce a contract on the basis of your letter. You can agree a fixed fee in advance with the solicitor as they will have a very clear idea of what you need based on your letter.
My advise on any service contract is to try to keep it simple and to have your solicitor draft in a customer-friendly style - so that customers are not resistant to signing it. If confronted by a legalistic document they may be put off or delay by passing it to their solicitors to review - find a solicitor who can draft an agreement in that style.
Someone on the forum may be able to provide you with a copy of their contract which you can use while you get your own - but make sure at least it is typed out and printed rather than copied to ensure it looks professional.
Good luck
