I shall shortly need to have a website developed for my small business. The requirements seem to me to be fairly simple: a page telling potential clients about our business and the facility for someone totally inexperienced in web design (me!!!) to load articles or research onto the site for viewers to read.
In addition I will need a form into which prospective clients can enter their personal details - name, address etc. This data would have to be totally secure so that users can be assured that only someone at my business will be able to view their details.
I realise that without a complete spec it will be difficult to be precise, but could someone please give me an indication of what it would cost to have such a site developed?
Many thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
We have a number of different website design packages, which you can view here:
http://www.hotigloo.co.uk/webdesignpackages.htm
The fact that you'relooking for a content management system (i.e. the ability to update and add to the site yourself) will bump the price up a little, although how much exactly would depend on how much of the site you want to be updateable.
Feel free to check out the site and drop us a line if you think we can be of any help :-)

Hi Andrew,
It is difficult to provide a price without a complete spec but can certainly help and give you a price based on what you are looking for.
Why not visit our website, http://www.c2webdesign.co.uk go to our contact page and let us know a little more on the specification you need and I can certainly give you a price.
We also specialise in search engine optimisation (and currently write articles for SMEs up and down the country) so if you are also looking for this too we can certainly help.
Best wishes.

Andrew,
I will always advice you get someone install a CMS for you as it remains the best option for your website needs.
It is always fast to setup and you can update, add or remove any content you want anytime and of course you get unlimited number of pages.
www.travelnigeria.info was set up from scratch in just 2 days and the owner was put through as regards managing the website under 1 hour and that's just how simple and easy it is to use a properly designed CMS.

Hi Andrew
Talk to a few companies but most importantly, talk to their previous clients to see if they would recommend them!
We used Edward Robertson www.edwardrobertson.co.uk and I certainly would recommend them for price, design and continuing service.
Take a look at my site www.SilverTripod.com and others that they've done and see what you think. (And tell me!)
(And no, I'm not on commission but I've seen a lot of small businesses taken for a ride on web design and this needn't be the case).
Best wishes
Siobhan

I have the perfect package for your needs which is about to be launched on our website www.thecreativespring.com. We will design you a 5-7 page website which includes a simple administration system that lets you add news and articles to your website. The site will be professionally designed (not a template) and you will be give two design options that fit in with your company image.
Once you have added articles to the site you can restrict access to the articles you want so that only people who have signed up and given their email address can view them. You can then use the email addresses you collect to send out newsletters based on the news that you have in your site.
If you sign up for our £250 + VAT design package you can have the package described above for £250 + VAT (£15 pm hosting fee) otherwise it is £350 + VAT (£15pm hosting fee).
The hosting fee covers hosting, support, domain name renewal and we optimise any news article pictures you want adding to the site.
Send an email with your telephone number to info@thecreativespring.com and i will give you a ring and a guided tour.
WEBDESIGNERS*** Email me if you are interested in having this system integrated into your clients websites.

JasonJ3k,
The websites on your portfolio page do not look convincing enough for a prospective buyer to do business with the website owners.
A page with two links to enquiry form and contact details do not come to me as a functional website.
Can one take a look at your new product that you intend to launch on your website soon?

Those are mini websites that come as part of our startup business pack and not the 5-7 page websites described below. You can see the quality of our web work at www.3k-design.co.uk
The mini sites are only ment to be a temporary presence until the company is ready to spend money on having a full site designed.
