Hi,
I am just testing the water in my local area for a home computing service, Ask-Kingsley. My target customer is the less experienced user - possibly retired etc.. who may want help in setting up and using their home computer. I have done a flyer drop in the local publication with a special offer. Does anyone know how to get a feature piece in the local advertising paper? Are they usually paid for?
Many thanks.

hi Kingo,
Contact the paper and speak to the editor. They are usually receptive to promoting locals, especially if they can see and advertising pound in it. I've done it here (Evesham); though it helps if you have an 'angle.' Helping the aged and retired is ideal, esp. if you offer OAP discount!!
Cheers, Nigel

Get in touch with the local Saga rep, my Mum did this and got a massive amount of enquiries (not for PC stuff though)

I think so, I think she phoned someone, I'll find out and let you know.
