We have made a decision to open a retail outlet selling ladies clothes.
We have the stock, the premises is in hand and everything is just about ready.
However what we are finding is a real problem finding some software to catagorise our stock. What we are looking for is a program that allows us to insert our stock with the following :-
* Product Code
* Description
* How Many
* Size
* Cost Price
* Expected Sale price
We plan on having 3 levels of discount at 25%, 50% and 75% on a defined period of stock that is'nt selling and hope the software will handle this for us. We could maybe generate a report in 5 months time that would automatically list all stock that has'nt sold within those 5 months and it automatically apply the discounts above so we could put them on sale.
When we sell a item of stock we will bring home tabs from the label and input the item code. This will mark the product as sold and not display it on our inventory. This should also give us a total costing and sales revenue on generated reports.
Does anyone know of this kind of software and can advise on where to look as its becoming ever increasingly frustrating trying to find one that fits this bill.
Likewise we would like an E commerce shop that would interact with our physcial shop. Some of the lines we sell are 1 off items so if we sold it in the shop and its on the e commerce store it would automatically be removed from sale. This way we are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
If anyone can advise on any suitable software i would be really appreciated ...

Why dont you try a software designer?
They would be able to deliver exactly what you wanted/needed.

thanks guys.
A software designer isnt an option at the moment as we have limited budget (dont we all). Obviously custom coded is best but i was hoping to use something else till we can get to that stage. It amazes me the limitations or just overwhelming features of the current software out there. All we need is a simple stock taking program with profit and loss built in. A simple database would no doubt handle this if we knew how to program one ..
Anyway thanks again ..
