I have a small Ltd. comapny with myself and one emplyee working from homw. We design websites and also offer hosting, domains, email, programming, search engine work etc.
I need employers liability insurance to comply with the law for my employee, and would like professinal indemnity for going for funding, so if anyone has any more pointers for a combined policy at reasonable cost, I would appreciate it very much.
Emp Liab. £10M (this is the min)
Prof Indemn. £?? not sure how much, £100k?
Many thanks in advance

Jonathan,
Couple of links to look at:-
www.pcg.org.uk
www.johnbannerman.co.uk - You will need to contact there people with your requirements.
You should pay around £300 for a policy that gives PI and Emp Liability insurance.
Emp Lib - I would suggest a min of £5M to £10M (I think you have to have £1M?)
PI - Depends on your work and T&C's - £100K is usual for a small consultancy
Hope this helps.

Hi
Thanks for the input.
My research has uncovered www.liabilitycover.co.uk who can offer a combined policy for £200.
The minimum EL required by law is £5M, but most offer £10M
The £200 pa is for that as well as £100k of PI ins. You can get more than that for more premium.
If you have two practicing consultants the premium goes to around double.
