Dear All,
Now I start next business activity and I will open (witch friend) a Fisch and Chips Shop.
Could you give me some advice about your preferebly location of that sort of takeaway.
We thinking about two sort of location:
- city centre location, or
- residential area location.
City centre location: to characterize that we will sell more product during lunchtime but after not much because other sort of pub will open.
Residential area: to characterize that we will sell only to domestic and local factory business.
What the best is???
Thanks,
Radek

You can only decide that by monitoring pedesterian and other traffic in the selected areas/shops offices factories nearby etc. If you're in a more industrial area you'll miss out on the big weekend sales and also be affected by Christmas closedowns etc. See some local agents and assess leases and availability.
This really is basic essential start-up research.
Cheers, Nigel

I totally agree with Nigel. You need to get out there and do some basic start up research before taking it any further. Find out about the companies around, residential areas, competition and prices of others.
Next, dont expect it to be a hit just because its fish and chips and this nation loves fish and chips !! if the produce is not good, which is often the case, your clients will buy from you a couple of times and that will be it.
Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
Jacqui
